Reputation Monitoring is Not Reputation Management
We wanted to take a moment and clarify some terminology pertaining to Online Reputation Management (ORM).
We define reputation monitoring as aggregating feeds and/or keyword-specific content. The real “management” begins when you decide how to react to the information gathered for you. That’s why we created ReputationHQ. Monitoring is the first major step and for some individuals, it may be enough, but our goal is to move through monitoring and into reputation management so you can collaboratively handle the world’s perception of you or your company.
All of the reputation management features help you, as a team, pool your collective intelligence to come up with a plan of action to define who you are and manage your reputation on your terms. Traditional email and IM’ing is insufficient for this level of collaboration. Emails get lost/buried as do IM’s and keeping an entire team on target and informed becomes increasingly irriational as subject lines becomed muddled and the constant barrage of “reply all” becomes unmanageable. My Reputation Manager let’s you control the flow and everything remains self contained. With tagging and rating capabilities, organization takes a front seat and information is easily digestible.
